On Sunday, January 7, Hollywood kicked off award show season with the 81st annual Golden Globes. This show is held every year to honor the best of film and television from 2023. Countless celebrities were in attendance, however, a few stood out, showcasing beautiful and unique looks as they walked the red carpet.
Natalie Portman
A vision in floral, Natalie Portman arrived in a stunning multi-colored bedazzled floral Dior gown. The dress was paired with a simple slick-back ponytail, diamond earrings, and Jimmy Choo shoes.
The actress received her fifth Golden Globe nomination for her role in the Netflix film May December. While Portman did not take home her third Golden Globe trophy, she won on the carpet with one of the most stunning looks of the night.
Margot Robbie
Stunning the carpet with an embodiment of her role in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, Margot Robbie’s custom look from Giorgio Armani is a reference to an iconic doll: Superstar Barbie.
Robbie’s hot pink halter dress and matching mesh boa is paired with a classic point-toe heel, statement earrings, and a simple nude eye look. This gorgeous dress and iconic reference gave Robbie one of the best looks of the night.
While Robbie did not take home the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Barbie received the trophy for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Barry Keoghan
Irish actor Barry Keoghan arrived at the Golden Globes in this striking look from Louis Vuitton. The red evening jacket and tailored trousers were accessorized with a golden belt chain, pearl necklace and Tiffany & Co. earrings.
Keoghan was honored at the Golden Globes for his leading role in the 2023 film, Saltburn. This was Keoghan’s second year as a Golden Globes nominee.
Ayo Edebiri
Ayo Edebiri looked stunning on the carpet, wearing a custom Prada red satin dress that featured intricate details, and accessorized it with red satin pumps and a leather clutch.
Edebiri had a memorable night at the Golden Globes, bringing home her first win for her work in Hulu series The Bear. She was ecstatic to win the trophy Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy.
“It’s really and truly an honor. People always say that, and you think it’s cheesy, and then you get there, and it really is the greatest honor to be nominated. The whole night was genuinely so amazing, and became more of a whirlwind than I was expecting,” said Edebiri to Vogue.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift made her appearance on the carpet in a gorgeous floor-length, green Gucci gown with matching green heels from Christian Louboutin. The look was paired with dangling De Beers diamond earrings and Swift’s signature bangs.
Swift attended the Golden Globes after the nomination she received for the cinematic adaptation of her famous Eras Tour. She was nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which she lost to Barbie.
Jennifer Lopez
This beautiful baby pink moment is quite on brand for singer and actress Jennifer Lopez. Her gown by Nicole + Felicia showcased a long train and a corseted bodice with giant roses. She accessorized with jewelry from the Boucheron Hopi collection.
Lopez was not nominated for an award this year, however, she attended the event on the arm of husband Ben Affleck, whose film Air was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Lenny Kravitz
Singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz attended the Golden Globes in a classy Alexander McQueen jumpsuit. The look was styled with Christian Louboutin leather boots and jewelry from Chrome Hearts and New York Vintage.
Kravitz was nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture. His song “Road to Freedom” was featured in the 2023 Netflix film Rustin.
Dua Lipa
First time nominee Dua Lipa attended the Golden Globes in a beautiful custom dress from Schiaparelli. The bodice was adorned with a gold and diamond embroidered bone design. She finished the look with Jimmy Choo heels and Tiffany & Co. jewels.
The British singer was nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture for her song “Dance the Night” which was featured in Barbie. This year’s show marks the second time in Globes history that three songs from the same film have been up for this award. “Dance the Night” received the nomination, along with Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” and Eilish’s “What Was I Made For,” which ultimately took home the trophy.
