Each year, Adams students  go all out for spirit days and sports events, but what leaves the biggest impression of all is the insane support at football games. Students bring props, costumes, and pretty much anything needed to rally up support in the stands.

The popular Michigan sports website, The D Zone, has created a competition for all the high schools in Michigan to face each other to see who has the craziest, most encouraging, and most ridiculous student section in the state. To find out which school has the best team spirit, students tweet out pictures at The D Zone’s twitter account using the hashtags “#SSS” and “#TheDZone”. The rankings are based off of a point system organized by the website. Whoever receives the most points per week wins and the top ten high schools will be posted on their website and twitter page.

AHS student section twitter account announced Adams as the winner one week out of the three weeks currently posted. What seems to inspire students to win the most is the intense rivalry with Stoney Creek High School. At the football game against North Farmington on September 9, students chanted out several times saying “We want Stoney!” Everyone went wild at the sound of this, showing the amount of competitiveness this rivalry holds.

“It’s really cool how all the students come together at football games and show their support,” said sophomore Skyler Rogers. “I like seeing everyone dress up for the spirit days. It’s really interesting how committed some students are!”

Highlander fans are ready for tonight’s  White-Out game  against Oak Park at 7 p.m.

“I have gone to all the football games so far this year and it’s been so awesome and fun! I really like hanging out with my friends and trying to get the freshman pumped,” said sophomore Tim Griess.
