Class of 2023 Spring Signing
Rochester Adams High School hosted a spring signing event for the class of 2023 for students continuing their athletic career at the collegiate level. By signing, the Rochester Adams students agreed not only to attend said college after high school, but also to discontinue any contact with any other college coaches who may have been seeking them as well. Their recruitment journey is over once the document gets signed.
“I believe students signing at Rochester Adams is important because we can honor our student athletes for their contributions at Adams and their step to continue to play further in their career,” said Athletic Director Brian Hassler.
Will Churchill is continuing his baseball career at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan. Churchill has been playing baseball for 15 years, and he is a two year varsity baseball player and pitcher at Rochester Adams High School. One of his greatest achievements is going to the Baseball OAA Districts last season in 2022. Kellogg Community College allows him to expand his potential and gain experience.
“I chose Kellogg Community College because it gives me countless opportunities and time to develop experiences,” said Churchill.
Brady Doelle is also continuing his baseball career at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan. Doelle has been playing baseball for 13 years, and he is a two year varsity baseball player and catcher at Rochester Adams High School. One of his greatest achievements is going five for five against Division I commits. Kellogg Community College provides him with benefits that a Division I college cannot.
“I chose Kellogg Community College because they give me more opportunities than a Division I college, and their program is a better fit for me,” Doelle said.
Taylor Green is continuing her acrobatics and tumbling career at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been tumbling for 14 years. Learning from many different athletes has made Green’s time for cheering memorable and has made her the person she is today. Green considers Morgan State University to be her second home, and adores her coaches and teammates.
“I chose Morgan State University because this school gave me a sense of community and felt like home the first day on campus. Not only that, but the coaches and teammates were amazing,” said Green.
Colton Jones is continuing his baseball career at the College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. Jones has been playing baseball for nine years, and he is a two year varsity baseball player and pitcher at Rochester Adams High School. One of his greatest achievements is an ERA under 1.000.
“I chose the College of Central Florida because it is a really good school for baseball, and it gives me the best chance to play at the next level,” said Jones.
Broder Kawa is continuing his football career at the Air Force Academy. Kawa has been playing football for ten years, and he is a two year varsity football player and defensive end at Adams High School. One of his greatest achievements is making it to the State Championship last season in 2021. The Air Force Academy showed him future possibilities in both his education and athletic abilities.
“Visiting the Air Force Academy showed me the opportunity I could be offered both in college and my future. This helped me make my decision,” said Kawa.
Ella Malinowski is continuing her lacrosse career at Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. Malinowski has been playing lacrosse for four years, and she is a two year varsity lacrosse player at the high school level. Her favorite move is a double hat-trick.
“I chose Tiffin University because it is a great community, and it has the need to support me in the future,” said Malinowski.
Cooper Nugent is continuing his tennis career at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Nugent has been playing tennis for four years, and he is a four year varsity tennis player at Adams. One of his greatest achievements is being the Rochester Adams tennis team captain his senior year. Hope College provides him with excellent career resources as he continues to further his education.
“I chose Hope College because Holland is a beautiful city, and they have great facilities for me,” said Nugent.
Parker Orlowsky is continuing his track and field career at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Orlowsky has been competitively running for two years, and he is a two year varsity track runner at Adams. One of his greatest achievements is running a 4:17.60 in the 1600 meter race.
“I chose Trinity College because I wanted to go out-of-state in a big city, and Trinity College has a good economics program,” said Orlowsky.
Lucas Rais is continuing his lacrosse career at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. Rais has been playing lacrosse for six years, and he is a three year varsity lacrosse player at Adams. One of his greatest achievements being the Adams team captain for lacrosse his senior year. Adrian College provides him with excellent resources for his future in business.
“I chose Adrian College because they have super good facilities. I like the campus and the guys on the team,” said Rais.
Damarcus Rouse is continuing his track and field career at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Rouse has been competitively running for six years, and he is a four year varsity track runner at Adams. His greatest achievements are running a 22.07 in the 200 meter race and a 48.29 in the 400 meter race.
“I felt that Davenport University was the right fit academically and more so athletically for me,” said Rouse.
Ashley Sapardanis is continuing her swimming career at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sapardanis has been swimming for ten years, and she is a three year varsity swimmer in high school. One of her greatest achievements being the Adams team captain for swimming her senior year.
“I chose Calvin University because I figured I wasn’t done with my swimming career. I wanted to continue my love for swimming throughout college,” said Sapardanis.
Haley Sornig is starting her rowing career at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Although she has no previous experience in rowing, she wanted to play a college sport. Michigan State University holds a sentimental value in her family.
“I chose Michigan State University because it’s where my parents went to college, and it’s where they got married. Attending Michigan State University is a family legacy,” said Sornig.
It was another great day to be a Highlander as twelve more of our student athletes committed to play college sports.
