The Adams Girls Cross Country team competed in the Averil Memorial Invitational at Possum Hollow Kensington Metropark on September 6. After hours of running, cheering, and waiting in anticipation, the Adams team took fifth place overall. Four individual medals were earned by sophomore Jordyn Houle, sophomore Jenna John, freshman Anna Heath, and senior Andrea Cicatello.
Varsity member Andrea Cicatello, who placed 29th at the invitational, earned a personal medal and points for the team.
“I really enjoy cross country and the people on the team. I can’t wait to see where we make it as a team,” said Andrea.
Adams also participated in the OAA Red Jamboree #1 at Bloomer Park on September 9 and placed sixth overall. With a strong team, cross country has a bright season ahead.
Mr. Lohr, head Cross Country coach, is optimistic about the season. “With a young team comes big improvement throughout the season,” Lohr said.
