Rochester Adams takes on Eisenhower in the first round of playoffs
With an electric student section and a sold out crowd, Rochester Adams looks to defeat Eisenhower in a cold, early November game. Does Adams have the intensity to take down Eisenhower’s elite level offense, or will Eisenhower’s firepower reign supreme?
Throughout the season, Adams football has kept its head high and managed to win games. With a 7-2 record, winning is a likely possibility. The Highlanders have a high powered offense that can score points and a strong defense that might cause difficulty for Eisenhower’s electric offensive threats. Going into this season’s playoffs, Adams seems ready for Friday night lights at Utica High School.
“It will be a hard fought game, but I think we are the team who will execute the best offense and defense and get the job done. It all comes down to how much effort we put in. I know Ike has a good offense, but I think our defense can handle the workload. This playoff run will be the best yet, and I hope we can pull it together and get a win,” said junior Jack Stanley.
Two years ago, Adams had one of the best teams in school history, going 8-1 in the regular season. Adams then made it to the playoffs, but lost to Eisenhower in the first round. Hopefully, this year is different for the boys in Brown and Gold, and they can redeem themselves against this formidable opponent.
“After what happened two years ago when we lost to Ike, we wanted to take vengeance on them, and unfortunately they came out on top. Since it’s my junior year, I will give it my all. We know this will be a hard fought game, but we need to win,” said junior Santino Orsini.
Rochester Adams football is going into the game with its head high and will do its best to beat Ike; hopefully moving onto the next round of playoffs. Adams historic past with Eisnehower is on the line and a superb game awaits the eager highlander fans.
