The Adams Girls’ Varsity Basketball team opened the season with a 45-42 win against Oxford on December 2. Seniors Amber Jamison and Raiven Owusu as well as sophomore Ryian Owusu all had strong defensive games. Their hard work up and down the court allowed them to force numerous turnovers and countless steals.

“We came out really hard the first game of the season and everyone played with high energy. Even though the game was close, we never gave up,” said Jamison.

Senior transfer student Dazia Dinkins and sophomore Maggie Rogers both contributed many points with their shooting and offensive attacking.

“I am really looking forward to this season and I am excited to play with a new group of girls. Everyone has been so welcoming, and I think we have a good chance of making it far in playoffs,”
said Dinkins.

With three returning starters, a new transfer point guard, and young talent, the team has high hopes for a successful season.

“Our team has gotten so much new talent this year and once we start to get used to each other’s playing, I think we could be a really solid team,” said Owusu.
