As February comes to an end, Adams students, the future leaders of the business industry, prepare for the DECA and BPA state conferences.

After competing against other students in the Oakland district, the Adams DECA and BPA are sending approximately 35 students each to the state DECA and BPA competitions held in Grand Rapids on March 13-16 and March 19-22. Students will compete for the state title against the best of the best business students in Michigan.

“The State DECA competition is possibly the most important competition for our DECA members,” said DECA advisor Vincent Lopiccolo.

Students who make it past their state competitions will head to Orlando, Florida (DECA) or Atlanta, Georgia (BPA) to compete on stage in front of 20,000 students from across the country.

“I’ve been preparing for states since this summer, so I’m really hoping that it pays off,” said junior DECA member Yasmeen Moradshahi.
